Theme One: Gender Stereotypes in the MediaMass media (television, film, radio, music, etc.) have made some progress in the last 20 years regarding stereotypes of men as emotionally shallow action heroes and women as submissive sex objects. But these stereotypes are still present in the media and promote unrealistic expectations for men and women in relationships, which can create unequal power and abuse in dating relationships. Your Challenge:Create a video that exposes this problem and provides images of healthy role models and relationships. Theme Two: Technology/Social MediaCell phones, Facebook, and other technology and social media have given people in abusive relationships new tools to get support and help, but also given abusers more ways to control and abuse. Your Challenge:Create a video that demonstrates how technology is used for control and abuse, and then show how those same tools can be used to seek help, to access resources, and to get out of an abusive relationship. ELIGIBILITY Teens aged 13-19 in middle school, high school, and college can enter the contest. Any individual or group of people within this age range may enter this contest.
