A think tank to engage national leaders

SEATTLE, WA--FaithTrust Institute and the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice, are sponsoring a think tank on the intersection of faith, spirituality, interpersonal violence, and women of color, October 18-20, 2010, in Washington, D.C.

Representatives from the following organizations will meet at the Center for Education on Violence Against Women:

  • FaithTrust Institute
  • Women of Color Network
  • Alianza (National Latino Alliance for the Elimination of Domestic Violence)
  • Asian and Pacific Islander Institute on Domestic Violence
  • Institute on Domestic Violence in the African American Community

This meeting of national leaders will focus on gaps in research and services that address the intersection of ethnic and religious culture in domestic violence. They will discuss ways FaithTrust Institute can support and work with the Institutes to address religious issues for women of color and better equip mainstream advocates to work with women of color and faith.
