Keeping the Faith: Responding to Domestic Violence in Your Faith Community - Recorded

— Categories: ,

For Christians living with domestic violence, faith can be a roadblock to ending the violence: biblical passages can be used by an abuser to justify the abusive behavior; teachings about marriage and divorce can keep someone in an abusive relationship. But one’s faith and faith community can also be a valuable resource of strength and support when facing this trauma. This recorded webinar will explore both dimensions of faith to help move the church from being part of the problem to being part of the solution to domestic violence.

LCF FoundationThis recorded webinar is sponsored by a grant from the Lutheran Community Foundation as a part of their Ending Family Violence Initiative and their work to end the enduring epidemic of domestic violence.

This webinar will further:

  • Identify the faith issues in the experiences of those dealing with domestic violence
  • Discuss the ways that faith functions as both a roadblock and a resource in ending domestic violence
  • Examine specific biblical texts that have been used as roadblocks and resources
  • Review specific goals to guide our response to domestic violence
