VAWA Reauthorization NOW!

The Interfaith Coalition Against Domestic Violence, as part of the National Task Force to End Sexual & Domestic Violence, is offering a toolkit for demanding the US Senate take up the bill to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act. The House of Representatives passed H.R. 1585, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, on April 4, 2019. For the past four months, the bill, which requires Senate approval to be enacted, has been sitting with no advancement for a vote in the Senate. This toolkit provides information and strategies for contacting your Senators to urge them to insist that the Senate pass H.R. 1585. The Congress is currently in recess in August, which makes this the perfect time to contact your Senators.
